Difference between being Loved and Being Used!

While a man was polishing his new car,
his 4 yr old son picked up a stone
and scratched lines on the side of the car.
In anger, the man took the child's hand
and hit it many times not realizing
he was using a wrench.

At the hospital, the child lost his finger
due to multiple fractures.

When the child saw his father.....
with painful eyes he asked, 'Dad when will my finger grow back?'
The man was so hurt and speechless;
he went back to his car and kicked it a lot of times.

Devastated by his own actions..... .
sitting in front of that car he looked at the scratches;
the child had written 'LOVE YOU DAD'.

Anger and Love have no limits;
choose the latter to have a beautiful, lovely
life & remember this:
Things are to be used and people are to be loved.
The problem in today's world is
that people are used while things are loved.

Let's try always to keep this thought in mind:
Things are to be used,
People are to be loved.

Watch your thoughts; they become words.
Watch your words; they become actions.
Watch your actions; they become habits.
Watch your habits; they become character;
Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.

All my life in every relationship that I choose out of my own free will or out of compulsion, the underlying principle has been expectations.

Parents expect you to do well in life, nothing wrong....but they expect.

Teachers expect you to do well in studies, nothing wrong....but they expect.

Extended family expect you to support them, financially or emotionally....expectations again.

Boss expects you to perform and * exceed expectations*

Lovers expect love and commitment...isn't it natural?....but I will say even that is again expectation.

Friends expect love, support, understanding...

Here I would like to clarify that I differentiate between expectations and carrying out responsibilities ( more on this in other chapters)

Do I expect anything from anyone?
Very rarely

Do I get hurt if what I expect is not fulfilled by others?
No, never.

I find nothing wrong in expectations, but I can never understand or relate myself with the hurt that other people feel when someone else does not meet their expectations. At times, when I am hurting, I tell myself * Kid, take care* I don't wait anyone else to come and comfort me, I do it myself first.

Expectation for me are like a stone placed on a butterfly....not necessarily heavy one...but then butterfly is not meant to be under stone, likewise I find it terribly wrong of people to expect something, anything from others

The only one who by all the moral, social and economical principles is justify to expect anything from me is myself. I am comfortable and at peace with this, anything else makes my heart cringe, my body shiver and my mind crazy.

Your life is first and foremost yours. Let the greatest love of your life be self-love. The only way expectations are healthy when you do that yourself.
Again here I am not advising to consciously hurt anyone, I just wish to emphasis that one should take very good care of themselves first. Remember even in plane the flight attendant ask you to secure your safety first before helping other passengers..

Derive your life purpose from the things that will make you happy.

Derive your happiness from the things that you are at peace with.

Do things, take risk, be a fool.

Do not loose out or do things because somebody expects something from you.

You are not obliged for other people happiness

Never blame yourself for other people's hurt.

And never ever you allow butterfly to get crushed :)

I agree with her views but sometimes I just feel selfish if I deattach myself from expections and I think its natural for we Indian's because we are being raised in such an envirnment where expections are already set right from your birth.

Both can’t live with either.

I would wait till my trust exists in the relationship we share.

Wish her happiness in her life & I will move on. I don’t believe in

Global Peace.

9. Do you lie?
Oh this is a tricky question… yes I do sometimes like every other man on this earth. I am not a Raja Harishchandra. But yes I certainly speak the truth the way I see it & I don’t care if people believe it or not.

10.Would you rather be single and rich or married and poor?
If it has got to do something with the phrase -'You're either single and lonely, or attached and miserable'. Definitely, I would be single and Rich.

11. If you fall in love with two people simultaneously who will you pick?
I don’t think this will happen with me, I hardly believe this.

12. Would you give all in a relationship?
Yes. I will.

13. Would you forgive and forget someone no matter how horrible a thing she has done?
I might forgive, but forgetting will take time...

14. Do you prefer being single or in a relationship?
I would prefer to be in a steady relationship if that’s not happening I would be single.
