My Views ...Do they matter?

Yes, they certainly do.

I read this questionnaire somewhere & I wanted to show my attitude...

Here it goes....

Dil Kya Kehta Hai Mera Kya Main Bataoon
Tum Ye Samjhoge Shayad Main Pagal Hoon
Chilla Chilla Ke Main Ye Sabse Kehdoon
.....ha ha

1. If your lover betrayed you what would your reaction be?
Will spend some time grieving & will get out of the relationship as soon as possible and then move on. I don't believe in taking revenge and stuff....who has that much time boss...

2. If you have a dream come true, what would it be?
NDA - Fighter Pilot for Sukhoi 30mki.

3. If you could, whose butt would you like to kick?
Obviously, Mine. Ha ha….

4. Will you fall in love with your best friend?
It's possible - hasn’t happened yet.

5. Which is more blessed: loving someone or being loved by someone?
Both can’t live with either.

6. How long do you intend to wait for someone you love?
I would wait till my trust exists in the relationship we share.

7. If the person you secretly like is attached, what will you do?
Wish her happiness in her life & I will move on. I don’t believe in
“If you can’t be mine then you can’t be anyone else’s!”

8. If you could root for one social cause, what would it be?
Global Peace.

9. Do you lie?
Oh this is a tricky question… yes I do sometimes like every other man on this earth. I am not a Raja Harishchandra. But yes I certainly speak the truth the way I see it & I don’t care if people believe it or not.

10.Would you rather be single and rich or married and poor?
If it has got to do something with the phrase -'You're either single and lonely, or attached and miserable'. Definitely, I would be single and Rich.

11. If you fall in love with two people simultaneously who will you pick?
I don’t think this will happen with me, I hardly believe this.

12. Would you give all in a relationship?
Yes. I will.

13. Would you forgive and forget someone no matter how horrible a thing she has done?
I might forgive, but forgetting will take time...

14. Do you prefer being single or in a relationship?
I would prefer to be in a steady relationship if that’s not happening I would be single.

The land of a billion Idiots!

Good Morning everyone and thank you for giving me this chance to speak to you. This day is about you. You, who have come to this college, leaving the comfort of your homes (or in some cases discomfort), to become something in your life. I am sure you are excited. There are few days in human life when one is truly elated. The first day in college is one of them. When you were getting ready today, you felt a tingling in your stomach. What would the auditorium be like, what would the teachers be like, who are my new classmates - there is so much to be curious about. I call this excitement, the spark within you that makes you feel truly alive today. Today I am going to talk about keeping the spark shining.Or to put it another way, how to be happy most, if not all the time.

Where do these sparks start? I think we are born with them. My 3-year old twin boys have a million sparks. A little Spiderman toy can make them jump on the bed. They get thrills from creaky swings in the park. A story from daddy gets them excited. They do a daily countdown for birthday party - several months in advance - just for the day they will cut their own birthday cake.

I see students like you, and I still see some sparks. But when I see older people, the spark is difficult to find. That means as we age, the spark fades. People whose spark has faded too much are dull, dejected, aimless and bitter. Remember Kareena in the first half of Jab We Met vs the second half? That is what happens when the spark is lost. So how to save the spark?

Imagine the spark to be a lamp's flame. The first aspect is nurturing - to give your spark the fuel, continuously. The second is to guard against storms.

To nurture, always have goals.. It is human nature to strive, improve and achieve full potential. In fact, that is success. It is what is possible for you. It isn't any external measure - a certain cost to company pay package, a particular car or house.

Most of us are from middle class families. To us, having material landmarks is success and rightly so. When you have grown up where money constraints force everyday choices, financial freedom is a big achievement. But it isn't the purpose of life. If that was the case, Mr. Ambani would not show up for work. Shah Rukh Khan would stay at home and not dance anymore. Steve Jobs won't be working hard to make a better iPhone, as he sold Pixar for billions of dollars already. Why do they do it? What makes them come to work everyday? They do it because it makes them happy. They do it because it makes them feel alive. Just getting better from current levels feels good. If you study hard, you can improve your rank. If you make an effort to interact with people, you will do better in interviews. If you practice, your cricket will get better. You may also know that you cannot become Tendulkar, yet. But you can get to the next level. Striving for that next level is important.

Nature designed with a random set of genes and circumstances in which we were born. To be happy, we have to accept it and make the most of nature's design. Are you? Goals will help you do that. I must add, don't just have career or academic goals. Set goals to give you a balanced, successful life. I use the word balanced before successful. Balanced means ensuring your health, relationships, mental peace are all in good order.

There is no point of getting a promotion on the day of your breakup. There is no fun in driving a car if your back hurts. Shopping is not enjoyable if your mind is full of tensions.

You must have read some quotes - Life is a tough race, it is a marathon or whatever. No, from what I have seen so far, life is one of those races in nursery school, where you have to run with a marble in a spoon kept in your mouth. If the marble falls, there is no point coming first. Same with life, where health and relationships are the marble. Your striving is only worth it if there is harmony in your life. Else, you may achieve the success, but this spark, this feeling of being excited and alive, will start to die.

One last thing about nurturing the spark - don't take life seriously. One of my yoga teachers used to make students laugh during classes. One student asked him if these jokes would take away something from the yoga practice. The teacher said - don't be serious, be sincere. This quote has defined my work ever since. Whether its my writing, my job, my relationships or any of my goals. I get thousands of opinions on my writing everyday. There is heaps of praise, there is intense criticism. If I take it all seriously, how will I write? Or rather, how will I live? Life is not to be taken seriously, as we are really temporary here. We are like a pre-paid card with limited validity. If we are lucky, we may last another 50 years. And 50 years is just 2,500 weekends. Do we really need to get so worked up? It's ok, bunk a few classes, goof up a few interviews, fall in love. We are people, not programmed devices.

I've told you three things - reasonable goals, balance and not taking it too seriously that will nurture the spark. However, there are four storms in life that will threaten to completely put out the flame. These must be guarded against. These are disappointment, frustration, unfairness and loneliness of purpose.

Disappointment will come when your effort does not give you the expected return. If things don't go as planned or if you face failure. Failure is extremely difficult to handle, but those that do come out stronger. What did this failure teach me? is the question you will need to ask. You will feel miserable. You will want to quit, like I wanted to when nine publishers rejected my first book. Some IITians kill themselves over low grades - how silly is that? But that is how much failure can hurt you. But it's life. If challenges could always be overcome, they would cease to be a challenge. And remember - if you are failing at something, that means you are at your limit or potential. And that's where you want to be.

Disappointment' s cousin is frustration, the second storm. Have you ever been frustrated? It happens when things are stuck. This is especially relevant in India . From traffic jams to getting that job you deserve, sometimes things take so long that you don't know if you chose the right goal. After books, I set the goal of writing for Bollywood, as I thought they needed writers. I am called extremely lucky, but it took me five years to get close to a release. Frustration saps excitement, and turns your initial energy into something negative, making you a bitter person. How did I deal with it? A realistic assessment of the time involved - movies take a long time to make even though they are watched quickly, seeking a certain enjoyment in the process rather than the end result - at least I was learning how to write scripts, having a side plan - I had my third book to write and even something as simple as pleasurable distractions in your life - friends, food, travel can help you overcome it. Remember, nothing is to be taken seriously. Frustration is a sign somewhere, you took it too seriously.

Unfairness - this is hardest to deal with, but unfortunately that is how our country works. People with connections, rich dads, beautiful faces, pedigree find it easier to make it - not just in Bollywood, but everywhere. And sometimes it is just plain luck.. There are so few opportunities in India , so many stars need to be aligned for you to make it happen. Merit and hard work is not always linked to achievement in the short term, but the long term correlation is high, and ultimately things do work out. But realize, there will be some people luckier than you. In fact, to have an opportunity to go to college and understand this speech in English means you are pretty damm lucky by Indian standards. Let's be grateful for what we have and get the strength to accept what we don't. I have so much love from my readers that other writers cannot even imagine it. However, I don't get literary praise. It's ok. I don't look like Aishwarya Rai, but I have two boys who I think are more beautiful than her. It's ok. Don't let unfairness kill your spark.

Finally, the last point that can kill your spark is isolation. As you grow older you will realize you are unique. When you are little, all kids want Ice cream and Spiderman. As you grow older to college, you still are a lot like your friends. But ten years later and you realize you are unique. What you want, what you believe in, what makes you feel, may be different from even the people closest to you. This can create conflict as your goals may not match with others. . And you may drop some of them. Basketball captains in college invariably stop playing basketball by the time they have their second child. They give up something that meant so much to them. They do it for their family. But in doing that, the spark dies. Never, ever make that compromise. Love yourself first, and then others.

There you go. I've told you the four thunderstorms - disappointment, frustration, unfairness and isolation. You cannot avoid them, as like the monsoon they will come into your life at regular intervals. You just need to keep the raincoat handy to not let the spark die.

I welcome you again to the most wonderful years of your life. If someone gave me the choice to go back in time, I will surely choose college. But I also hope that ten years later as well, your eyes will shine the same way as they do today. That you will Keep the Spark alive, not only through college, but through the next 2,500 weekends. And I hope not just you, but my whole country will keep that spark alive, as we really need it now more than any moment in history. And there is something cool about saying - I come from the land of a billion sparks.

Thank You.

A billion $ question?

What Do Men Want From Women??

From the Editor of Cosmopolitan,

- Payal Puri

OH, MAN!

Men- we love them, hate them, are exasperated by them, sometimes understand them all too well.. the one thing, however, that we can never say about men is that they bore us. When you come right down to it, we'd rather live with them than without them, wouldn't we?

Luckily, there's a lot less women don't understand about men than vice versa. And once you finish reading this issue, you'll know as much as you ever need to know about your dude. And we got this straight from the horses' mouth, men themselves!

SO what is it....

Sure, you know babelicious looks and serious booty turn him on. But there's a lot
more guys dig about you that they'd never tell you.. but they told us!

- By Disha Muralidharan

11 things men absolutely love about women!!!!

You've got a drawer full of lacy underwear, you've slogged for hours and hours at the gym and lived on celery and boiled pulses to lose that pinch of flab, and you've also, at the same time, managed to perfect the art of strutting about in sky-high stilettos. But apart from this locker-room list of turn-ons firmly sitting on your head and making you agonise over your cellulite, what is it that men really find irresistible about you? We're telling you, no holds barred, what no man will ever tell you himself, not even while you're wearing your corset and high heels and showing off your toned bod- the 11 things he absolutely loves about you.

I Completely agree with Disha.......Parik.........

1. You're a strong, self-sufficient woman who manages to run her life without the help of her man. you can even change a flat tyre all by yourself! You don't need him. although occasionally you might play damsel in distress and let hm gallantly come to your rescue. If for example you cant find the menu for the pizza delivery place and your PMS is making you rant a bit and you need dairy comforting, like, now. you can manage perfectly well without him and he knows this as long as he feels like he can play the part of a strong, protective man who triumphantly gets you a cheese pizza with extra cheese and an ice cream sundae to boot the fact that you don't need him is something of an intoxicant because be will do everything he can to make himself indispensable to you.

Just let him feel like you can't do without him sometimes. Let him do the things you'd rather not do it you were given a choice like unscrewing car oil don't want to get all greasy do you? and your independence will serve to remind him of why the things you do need him for, make him so special. All right so we're simplifying things tad, but at the end of the day we all like to feel needed, and we all want to know that sometimes we're not.

2. Your ability to make intelligent conversation...

Dumb blondes? We don't think so Gentlemen really prefer brunettes with brains. You see an hourglass figure might get the boys going, but is there ever anything as attractive as a beautiful, intelligent woman? Someone who can hold a conversation for more than five minutes(sorry chats about make-up don't count) who is interested in a variety of things and can talk about practically anything under the sun, or even just someone's who's really, good at her job. What you're brainy about doesn't have to be something he also understands, you could be in different professions, for ex. he's a banker and you're an architect, or he could be an artist and you're working as an accountant. What ultimately counts is that you're the kind of girl who has more personality than a lipstick!

The point here being, that you know your stuff. And of course, it helps loads if he can have a discussion with you over the Sunday paper and breakfast. and he knows you know enough to keep him interested . Maybe even to keep the both of you debating. A difference of opinion can get the juices flowing and make the attraction of opposites more intense that ever. So go on, disagree, show him why more women graduate college than men.

3. Your humanitarian side.....

You can't help buying a wilted bunch of roses from a street urchin at the traffic lights, you know the names of every errand boy in your building you want to take all the pups in the animal shelter home especially the ugly ones. All right youre not Mother Teresa, but you have natural sense of empathy and compassion that makes you well the warm and fuzzy person that you are.

Even if he teases you about it, he finds it endearing and yes very attractive. Even when you make him soup and say poor baby when he has a cold and is acting like it's the end of the world. And the times you carefully leave him alone when he's stressed out, working 26/7, and needs to be in his own space. Whatever little thing it is that you do, your kindness is something he treasures.

Men, of course, are encouraged to suppress their empathy and sensitivity at a young age, while we have the freedom to let our nurturing side show. He likes it that you're able to be so open and generous with your kindness, and it allows him to let that side of him show too sometimes, even if reluctantly. your softness makes it all right for him to be hard sometimes.

4. Your professional success

You're doing better at the office than ever, you are the shining star. You've earned every bit of the raise and promotion you recently got, you work your butt off and you get the success you truly deserve. And that's just plain hot. Your man is not only proud of your achievements, he finds it a huge turn-on to know that such a successful woman chose him to share her body fluids with.
If he's successful at his work as well, then he knows just what it takes, and appreciates you the more for having the drive and commitment ot get there, MOreover, he will see you even more as an equal , and will be quite unable to keep hands off you.

Ego is a funny thing and while it may not be a good idea to share exactly how much money you're making in the process , (money . incidentally , is the number one reason couples fight) your accomplishments in the workplace are just another reason for him to be proud of the woman you are. No one will clap louder than him, no one will beam more.

5. Your attention to detail

You never forget birthdays, you always remember the things that matter, the little things that his brain never seems to be able to retain, somehow. you make sure you
buy a housewarming present for that party he's so very completely forgotten about, his little niece's birthday, you remember to ask after his friend's asthma, basically you pay attention to all the little details that he might miss out on. While it's common to hear someone talking about temporary amnesia, amongst people in general, men have a tendency to be plagued by temporary detail disorder. He's conditioned to look at the big picture, you're more worried about the smaller picture that he loses track of. you keep the wheels turning while he tries to steer you down the long wound road of life.

without you, he'd be the boor he knows he is. With you, however, he gets transformed into a caring, sensitive man who pays attention to little details and he totally adores you for it. He wishes he could be more like that, but is secretly relived that you can take over that side of things so that he doesn't have have to worry about it at all. The next time you remind him to brush his teeth, he's actually thanking his stars (with mouthfuls of foam) that he has you.

6. Your low maintenance side

Sure, he likes taking you out and showing you off, he likes buying you expensive presents (he'd better) and he wants to make sure he does everything to your liking so that you don't find him lacking. But sometimes, he just wants to have an easy, relaxed evening with his girl, bumming out on the couch, ordering in pizza and watching a DVD.

No one likes a diva. If you're the type that constantly demands, whether it's a perfectly chilled bottle of wine or more of his time and attention, try backing off and taking a deep breath. There's nothing more attractive than a woman who's confident and relaxed, who can roll with the punches and ease up on her guy. He's not perfect, and he is going to make mistakes, probably lots of them.

7. Your commitment to family

He may not be ready yet to slide a ring onto your finger and carry you over the threshold, but he wants to know that when he does take the step, you'll channel Godfather - or Karan Johar. It's all about loving your family.

But Seriously, the fact that you take so much care when dealing with delicate family matters, or even just that you speak to your parents everyday, shows him values that all men seek in a potential mate. He likes the fact that you can be there not only for him but his close kin. So that he knows that when the time comes, you will have your priorities right, and will deal with as much sensitivity and care with his family, for example, as he expects. It comes naturally to you, and he expects it too.

8. Your having a life-without him

Cling film might be great for wrapping leftover grub, but in relationship, being too needy is never a good idea. It's not just because it'll scare him away either,It's healthier for you to have other interests, to not live in a bubble where he and you are the only ones and the rest of the world doesn't exist. Go out, make plans without him, don't cancel evenings out with your friends all the time. Think of how annoyed you would be if he clung to you all the time and didn't go for his sometimes blessed nights out with his boys, leaving you alone to watch re-runs of Friends and take long soaks in the tub,oh, the horror of it all.....
It keeps him on his toes, knowing the can't take you for granted, that you won't always be around to wait for his beck and call. Even though you do stuff together , couply stuff, it's equally important that you do things on your own friends, your own life, your own interests that the other person doesn't share, that you exist detached from him as well. It keeps a spark going, and you don't want to let that spark die. you have to have things to talk about when you're wrinkly like a prune, right?

9. Your love for 'guy' stuff..

You spend as much time fiddling with your Blackberry as he does, you're as fascinated by cars, you cheer on the Indian cricket team as fiercely as he does. All this and you've got breasts can you blame him for being hopelessly in love with you? Your interest in what is loosely and inaccurately called 'guy stuff'is something he respects, and he might even ask your advice when his ego is feeling invincible.you might not be a stock trading genius , but he respects your financial decisions, nonetheless. Maybe you follow the real estate market keenly, and he knows he can trust your judgment on whether or not to buy that great apartment. Because he knows you have his best interests at heart and mind.

As long as he sees you keeping your femininity, and doesn't feel threatened by your interests (he Is a Man, in the end) he will find it endlessly attractive. There are more layers to you than he might have imagined at first , and how cool is it that the two of you can scream at a TV, an unbeatable combination.

THESE WILL MAKE HIM RUN...FAST!

* Don't play hard to get want to be considered a great catch? Be available to have a
relationship if you say you want one.
* Don't marry him in your head: Be a smart chick, learn to stay in the moment, have an
eye on the future, but don't live it.
* Don't come on too strong: it's fun to sweep a guy off his feet, but don't become the human equivalent of cling film.Grow slowly, lightly into a relationship.
* Don't expect to be saved: Relying on a new partner in the process of improving yourself is unattractive. Solve your own problems.
* Be honest: About your goals, priorities, intentions, wants, needs etc. You don't have anything to hide.

10. Your spontaneity quotient...

Men love to plan. Holidays, dates, sex. Blame it on their strategic warrior side, but more likely than not, your guy likes to have a fairly will-organized idea in his head of exactly how he wants things to go. Now whether he practices his lines to the mirror or draws diagrams in a notebook is a different story (yes he's a loser , we know)He means well , after all, he doesn't want tthings to go wrong, he wants to be in control of the situation. Do you find yourself wishing he were more spontaneous? Just go ahead and jump him when he least expects it, and sooner or later, he'll get the idea and follow suit.

Your impulsiveness enchants him-your decision to suddenly spend half your paycheck on a killer pair of shoes, the way you spoil his well -made holiday plans by deciding you would rather go for a long walk through the market rather than take pictures at the nearest monument, how you color your hair blonde on a whim boy was that a bad decision . But whether your spontaneity leads to mind-blowing sex, niggling annoyance or a whole new experience, he can't imagine his well-planned life without it.

11. You're taken over by lust, passionately going at it on the kitchen table, your inhibitions thrown to the wind, and it's all terribly serious and intense and wonderful, When suddenly , a wayward fork finds its way into a butt check. Ouch, Do you cringe in embarrassment, carry on as if nothing happened, and fake an orgasm(for there's no way you're going to have one now)? Or do you collapse into laughter-cause let's face it, sex is a funny business- and manage to get your rhythm back, working your way cheerfully up to climax? Your ability to not take life too seriously takes the pressure off a a guy, and besides, your whole face lights up when you laugh, making the apples of your cheeks shine.

Whether your laughter is shy or snorting, giggly or roaring, its your ability to see the funny in the tragic and the mundane that is irresistible. the fact that you don't take things too seriously and are not hung up on making a mountain out of a mole hill, is something men find extremely endearing. Wondering how come his list of turn-ons in a woman is o close to your list of turn-ons in a man? Blame it on evolution. Maybe they're not the Neanderthals we think they are, Or maybe they are. but just better-dressed and with a slightly more attractive brain.Give him a chance , a little bit of credit, and he might just surprise you. And you might just surprise him.
